What do Quakers say?

There is something sacred in all people.
All people are equal before God.
Religion is about the whole of life.
We meet in stillness to discover a deeper sense of God's presence.
True religion leads to respect for the earth and all life upon it.
Each person is unique, precious, a child of God.

Quakers usually worship in local groups called Meetings, holding Meetings for Worship (usually on Sundays but in some cases also on other days); all are very welcome to attend these meetings. The local Meetings are organised into small groups called Area Meetings, and West Somerset Area Meeting is one of about 75 such in the national organisation which is Britain Yearly Meeting.

There are 7 Meetings in our Area Meeting area, they are Minehead, Burnham-on-Sea, Wellington, Taunton, Ilminster, Spiceland and Bridgwater. Please click on the link for each Meeting for information on how to get there, time of Meeting, when Children’s meetings are, news of events and other information.
